Quickcure Moulding System (QMS)

PDM Neptec has developed a portable high performance field moulding system the Quickcure Mould Heater (QMH) which allows you to complete your own mouldings in the field using the temperature controlled mould heater and polyurethane elastomer packs.

The Quickcure Mould System includes:

  • Quick Mould Heater- 110V or 220V versions, CE marked and RoHS compliant
  • power lead
  • moulds, mould tool separator and separating wedge
  • aluminium flight case with pre-cut protective internal foam padding and measures 450mm*150mm*120mm and weighs approximately 10kg
  • consumable Materials, mould release, primers and pre-mix polyurethane packs

The Quick Mould Heater:

  • is available in 110V AC and 220V AC versions
  • is temperature-controlled and dramatically cuts the moulding time, compared to moulding at ambient temperatures.
  • offers better surface finishes
  • has been optimised to work with the primers and materials from PDM.
  • design enables it to accept various mould tools and produce cable joints of different sizes.
  • Is available in two versions 4-slot or 1-slot:
    • The 4-slot version
      • The slots can be used for producing a number of small mouldings simultaneously
      • Different mould tools can occupy the slots
    • The 1-slot version for longer mouldings

PDM’s Quickcure Moulding System is used within the following industries producing fast turn-around high-quality mouldings:

  • seismic and geophysical oil and gas exploration
  • oceanographic instrumentation production
  • seismic surveying for civil construction projects
  • marine research
  • production of fish farming products

PDM supplies primers and pre-mix polyurethane packs to ensure optimum performance, please see the Elastomers webpage.

Consumables for use with the QMS:

  • Packs of polyurethane elastomers (link to elastomers page),
  • PDM's mould release agent, MR-512,  is a silicon-based product and is used with the mould tools to ease the removal of the cured moulding.

Primers to ensure a good bond to the polyurethane elastomer.
