PDM has been in the business of designing and manufacturing harnesses, both electrical and fibre optic, for the most demanding environments for over 20 years.

All harnesses are manufactured under BS EN ISO 9001:2008.

PDM's extensive experience in harness design ensures that all critical parameters are taken into account when a customer's harness is manufactured. PDM's engineering department is able to design a harness tailored to a client's specific needs.

PDM has developed and optimised techniques for bonding to most cable jacket materials including:

  • Polyurethane
  • Polyethylene
  • Neoprene
  • PVC
PDM can manufacture harnesses incorporating connectors from Teledyne Impulse's extensive range or using customer's free issue cable and connectors.

PDM produces harnesses for every conceivable type of underwater equipment, both in the commercial and military sectors, including amongst others:
  • Transducer arrays
  • Active and passive acoustic arrays
  • Dynamic positioning systems
  • Communications and data transmission
  • ROVs and AUVs
  • Submersibles
  • Seismic applications
  • Submarine defence equipment
  • Ship based defence systems
