INTRODUCTION

PDM twin pack polyurethanes are two part ambient temperature curing systems. Store at 18-25degC.
They are all supplied in the form of a twin pack sachet. This format has been chosen:

1. To ensure an accurate mix ratio, even when the material is mixed on trials etc.
2. To remove the need for evacuation of the mix (except in the most stringent applications).
3. To keep the component materials uncontaminated (e.g. to avoid moisture absorption).
4. To reduce the risk of operator contamination.

Do not remove sachet from foil envelope until you are ready to use the elastomer.
Each sachet should be mixed and used in total, do not attempt to divide a sachet.

Read and observe the recommendations of the Safety Data Sheet supplied.

a. Wear the recommended protective equipment-particularly gloves & safety glasses with side protection.
b. Carry out the work in an extracted or well ventilated environment.
c. Do not excessively heat or spray the elastomer. Do not stand over the elastomer for long periods.
d. Wash after use. Do not allow any contamination of foodstuffs.

MIXING

Step 1 Remove the sachet from the foil bag, and thoroughly premix the individual components within the separate sachet compartments. Any filler or sediment must be fully incorporated.

Remove the end caps.

Step 2 Remove the plastic separator by pulling the two halves of the sachet away from each other. Using the smooth side of the separator as a scraper move one component into the other then combine and mix the materials thoroughly within the sachet.

Duration: 30 seconds.

Step 3 Scraping carefully with the separator, ensure material from the corners of the sachet is displaced into the central area and incorporated. Finally move all the material to one end of the sachet then fold over the empty part of the sachet.

Duration: 15 seconds.

Step 4 Continue to mix the materials thoroughly within the sachet by kneading vigorously between the palms of the hands.

For EMC85T & derivatives...Duration: 60 seconds.
For all other elastomers......Duration: 30 seconds

REPEAT Operation 3.
REPEAT Operation 4.

Step 5 Cut off a small corner of the pack to dispense the elastomer. Judge the size of the cut for the flow rate you need.

Duration: 10 seconds.

Step 6 Dispense the material from the pack pouring it in a slow controlled and continuous manner. Try to avoid trapping air in the moulding as the elastomer flows in. Do not scrape or squeeze out the last residues from the sachet.

Duration: 2 minutes maximum.
